When visitors leave comments on the site, CreativePocket collects the data shown in the comment form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to support spam detection.
An anonymised string created from a visitor’s email address (also known as a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to determine whether they use it. See the Gravatar Privacy Policy here. Once a comment is approved, the visitor’s profile picture may be publicly visible alongside their comment.
Visitors uploading images to the website should avoid including embedded location data, such as EXIF GPS information. Other visitors may be able to download images from the website and extract any embedded location data.
Visitors who leave a comment may choose to save their name, email address, and website in cookies. These cookies are provided for convenience, so visitors do not need to re-enter their details when leaving future comments. They remain active for one year.
When a visitor accesses the login page, CreativePocket sets a temporary cookie to determine whether the visitor’s browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when the browser is closed.
When a user logs in, CreativePocket sets several cookies to retain login information and screen display preferences. Login cookies remain active for two days, while screen-options cookies remain active for one year. If a user selects ‘Remember Me,’ their login remains active for two weeks. Logging out removes the login cookies.
When an article is edited or published, an additional cookie may be saved in the user’s browser. This cookie contains no personal data; it simply identifies the post ID of the article that was edited. It expires after one day.
Articles on the site may include embedded content, such as videos, images, or articles. Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if the visitor had visited the external website directly.
Those external websites may collect personal data, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor interactions with embedded content. This may include tracking activity where the visitor has an account with, and is logged in to, the external website.
If a visitor requests a password reset, their IP address will be included in the password-reset email.
If a visitor leaves a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This enables CreativePocket to recognise and approve follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For registered users, if any, CreativePocket stores the personal information provided in the user profile. Users may view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time, except for their username. Website administrators may also view and edit this information.
Visitors with an account on the site, or who have left comments, may request an exported file of the personal data held about them, including any data they have provided. They may also request the erasure of personal data held about them. This does not include data that CreativePocket is required to retain for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam-detection service.
